August 20, 2019 - First Week


What's up everyone?! This first week has been one of the longest but one of the best weeks. One Elder put the MTC experience as the days feel like weeks and the weeks feel like days. It feels like I have been here for a month. So my district is an all elders district and most everyone is going to Reno Nevada besides me and my companion, but they are awesome and we are becoming really good friends. My companion is Elder Laing from Lehi, hes a good guy, he graduated last year and has been working until now. We have like 6 hours of classes a day and don't worry I have only fallen asleep during class twice haha. 

 The first day was definitely overwhelming but like 20 min in I saw Elder Castleton which was awesome and definitely helped with all the emotions of leaving. I have seen a ton of people I know which is cool and helps with the transition, like I saw Camden Robbins from churchill and I saw Lanson Tuttle and Jake ward. I'm learning a ton about the gospel and about how to teach and it's a lot of fun and super interesting. Mom you will be happy to learn that I went to choir instead of taking a nap haha, but really choir was an awesome experience there were like 700 missionaries there and it was super powerful. We have exercise time every day and we go play basketball basically every time which is fun and something normal. There are some frustrating rules like you can't say dude or bro and I'm struggling with that lol and we are only allowed to play 3v3 halfcourt basketball and it can't be competitive but I'm working on those lol. I'm doing really well and definitely love being here.

  Yes indeed, this will be my last weekly email. I don't know how all of you are going to live without my every once in a while updates lol. This week has been awesome. It has gone by so fast, we have had so many different things to do. On Tuesday we had beers with Brother dodge (don't worry its just root beer but he likes to freak people out and have fun with it). We went with him to a recent converts place, Bob, to watch a book of Mormon video and it was wonderful until the video ended and bro dodge proceeded to tell Vietnam War stories for 2 hours. It was brutal. OK so there is a recent convert here named Grace and she is probably one of the coolest people I've met on my mission. We got to talk to her on Thurs night and hear her conversion story and it was awesome. She is one of those people that just gets it, and she is all in for the gospel. September 21, 2020 - Go Jags

  Yo! This week was filled with a bunch of stuff so I'll give a few highlights Monday we golfed in the morning, hit up bdubs (their new sauces are trash) and then had a nerf war lol, felt like I was 12 again. It was awesome. Tuesday we did service at some organic farm, pretty cool since the lady requested help on Facebook, and that was something. We picked sweet potatoes for 4 straight hours, I could never be a farmer. I did find the largest potato and it was about the size of my head. Ants, spiders, and ticks were all prevalent but I'm still moving.  That night we went to Rhondas for a little good bye dinner. It was sweet we had lasagna and she also got apple pie and ice cream, because I said pie was my favorite. I felt I had made a mistake after she put two huge pieces on my plate with ice cream, but I was a champ and put it down. June 8, 2020 - Tropical Storm < Tropical Wool

  This week has actually been really good! We had interviews this week with President Wood and we got to do them in person so that was awesome! We also had a referral this week for a Bible study and this dude is awesome, his name is Sedrick and he loved being able to study with us. Hopefully he will be just as excited to hear about the restoration! We also finally got to have a sit down lesson our Chinese friend and it was awesome! Just kidding I have no idea since I didn't understand anything but I think it went pretty good and she wants to keep doing more so that's something.  It has been raining for like a week straight because of the tropical storm in Louisiana. Which is great but it washes out all the ants from the dirt and so they are all over the parking lot, we've had ants all over and in our car for 3 straight days.
