September 3, 2019 - Last Week... I think
This week has completely flown by. I feel like I just got here but now I'm leaving, it's so crazy especially when new missionaries come in all nervous "deer in the headlights" like and to think that was me just 3 weeks ago. So on Wednesday we were playing basketball and Elder Clifton, from my district, caught an elbow in the mouth and it knocked one tooth out and chipped the other front tooth in half. The kid that elbowed him had to get stitches because the cut was so deep. It was wild, but Clifton got to go to the real world to go to the dentist so we were all super excited to hear what it was like out there lol, crazy what little things you get excited about when you are here for a while.
I got asked to be in a focus group on how to better the MTC so if in a few years they build a huge sauna then you know who to thank, (me and elder Iverson from a different district). I have finally started to get over my cold this week and we found out that our district didn't have strep so that was a plus.
We had fast Sunday this past week and it was the longest day ever, no joke it was 13 hours of church with four different devotionals. But the last one was good, here name was Sister Ulrich, some psychologist, she talked a lot about having a growth mindset instead of a fixed, in order to learn and grow. She also told us that there is no failing in the mission field only learning which was comforting.
We had our last class on Monday and everyone in my district left this morning at like 4am, except me and my companion and elder clifton because he has one last appointment. It was pretty sad since we are all going to different places, it was also kind of a wake up call that we aren't going to be in the MTC forever...or am I? As most of you know there is a hurricane in the Florida so I have no idea when I'm leaving, so now I have nothing to do but play basketball and read scriptures all day which is not bad at all.
