October 21, 2019 - Biking



This week has been pretty uneventful. First week of the transfer and we have been working hard which is good. We have kind of a dilemma here in our district. The car that was in the other elders area got yoinked so now we are car-less. To go anywhere like for district council or pday or just to the church the zone leaders have to come get us drop us off then go get the other elders, but they dont have the time or the miles to do that. So we are stranded. We have biked so much in the last week it's insane. On Saturday alone we biked probably 25 miles. My legs are dead. But we are making it work and praying we get a car soon. 

Saturday morning we got up and went to play soccer with a bunch of people because there is a guy named Roberto, from Guatemala, that we are going to try and teach. So I had to whip out the old soccer skills. It was actually a lot of fun. It was also pouring rain because of the tropical storm happening somewhere in the south. So yeah. We have been working with  and seeing a lot of members this week to get to know them better and do missionary work through them or help them do it on their own so that has been fun. The reason is no one wants to talk to us, we are lucky if they even answer the door and are luckier if we get a ten second conversation. But it's all good well find another way.

Exciting stuff, there was a cockroach on our garage, right not a big deal necessarily, so we kill it and sweep it out the walking back in we close the door and BANG another cockroach but this time on the inside part of the door, panicked for a second then killed it, then another one on the garage wall and as we were trying to kill it it flew right at me but I was completely calm, ice in my veins karate chopped it out of the air and it flew out the garage. Since when can cockroaches fly? I dont what we are going to do, probably just give up and let them take over our apartment. Everyone watch the NBA openers for me, so I can be there in spirit.   Yes indeed, this will be my last weekly email. I don't know how all of you are going to live without my every once in a while updates lol. This week has been awesome. It has gone by so fast, we have had so many different things to do. On Tuesday we had beers with Brother dodge (don't worry its just root beer but he likes to freak people out and have fun with it). We went with him to a recent converts place, Bob, to watch a book of Mormon video and it was wonderful until the video ended and bro dodge proceeded to tell Vietnam War stories for 2 hours. It was brutal. OK so there is a recent convert here named Grace and she is probably one of the coolest people I've met on my mission. We got to talk to her on Thurs night and hear her conversion story and it was awesome. She is one of those people that just gets it, and she is all in for the gospel. September 21, 2020 - Go Jags

  Yo! This week was filled with a bunch of stuff so I'll give a few highlights Monday we golfed in the morning, hit up bdubs (their new sauces are trash) and then had a nerf war lol, felt like I was 12 again. It was awesome. Tuesday we did service at some organic farm, pretty cool since the lady requested help on Facebook, and that was something. We picked sweet potatoes for 4 straight hours, I could never be a farmer. I did find the largest potato and it was about the size of my head. Ants, spiders, and ticks were all prevalent but I'm still moving.  That night we went to Rhondas for a little good bye dinner. It was sweet we had lasagna and she also got apple pie and ice cream, because I said pie was my favorite. I felt I had made a mistake after she put two huge pieces on my plate with ice cream, but I was a champ and put it down. June 8, 2020 - Tropical Storm < Tropical Wool

  This week has actually been really good! We had interviews this week with President Wood and we got to do them in person so that was awesome! We also had a referral this week for a Bible study and this dude is awesome, his name is Sedrick and he loved being able to study with us. Hopefully he will be just as excited to hear about the restoration! We also finally got to have a sit down lesson our Chinese friend and it was awesome! Just kidding I have no idea since I didn't understand anything but I think it went pretty good and she wants to keep doing more so that's something.  It has been raining for like a week straight because of the tropical storm in Louisiana. Which is great but it washes out all the ants from the dirt and so they are all over the parking lot, we've had ants all over and in our car for 3 straight days.
