October 28, 2019 - Time Flies
This week flew by and I can't really remember a lot of it so here are a few highlights.
Tuesday night we went and played basketball with a young man in our ward who brought a lot of non member friends so that was good. I popped off. In my tennis shoes. I had a sweet block, there was this black dude in a durag all tatted up, he drove on me then tried to lay it in and I jumped up and glassed him so hard. Felt pretty good.
That same day there was a downpour. It was crazy, we were out knocking doors when it just started coming down. We got under a little pavilion rest stop thing for a second. I thought we should just wait it out but Elder Dockstader thought we were just going to have to tough it out and go see one more person before our next appointment. So we rode through a crazy storm and we got soaked and I mean soaked. Wet from head to toe, puddles in my shoes it was insane, we couldn't have been more wet if we jumped in a pool. So we knocked this last door completely wet and guess what, no answer. Then literally 30 sec later it cleared up and blue skies. But it was fun and made some memories so whatever.
We texted a guy who had formerly been taught by missionaries and he texted back and was like oh I had been thinking about you guys and want to set up a time to meet. So that was awesome, we have had one lesson with him and he even brought his friend too. We are going back there next week.

We found out there is a dollar tree really close to us and guess what, literally everything in there is 1 dollar. It really has blown my mind, like everything all different sizes of candy, toothpaste, milk, all one dollar so that made me happy.
Anyway another week down. I still love being a missionary even though sometimes people tell at you. It just makes my belief that this is the true church even stronger, and that this is the restored gospel. I know it with all my heart.
Love you all have a great week!

Hi, Sam: I thought I had been "un-friended" because I hadn't been receiving your emails. Your Mom said she would put me back on the list, but gave me this email address. I love hearing from all of the missionaries in our Ward. You come from a very "special" family. I love all of them! Laura and I went with your Mom and Brooke and Luke to see Megan Grass in Aladdin. She was terrific.
ReplyDeleteI owe your Mom an InNOut burger following the BYU/USU football game. As you know I'm an Aggie, but they got pummeled by the Y. Ugh! We had a little wager, which of course I lost.
Keep up the good work. We miss you!
