December 30, 2019 - Christmas Again in the City

With the Alomia's

This week was packed full of stuff mostly because of Christmas and Christmas eve, but it was way fun. Christmas eve we had a breakfast with a bunch of other missionaries and then had a meeting right after which was really good.

Later that night we went to the Alomia's and that was the highlight. We played some games and I won Spanish bingo (they're Latino) so I was pretty proud of myself and would like to give a big shout out to duo lingo and all my Spanish teachers because all the hard work finally payed off. Then we decorated gingerbread houses and watched a short Christmas video about christ. We had some really good food, it was like a hibachi style dinner, apparently it's Puerto Rican or something but it was awesome. We had a devotional after and talked about the spirit of Christmas. They were super kind and gave me and elder Dockstader some gifts, some fuzzy socks, a tie, and a nutcracker ornament (because my families always gets nutcrackers and his gets ornaments so they combined them) so that was way nice.

Christmas day was good too. We went and helped Jackie who is the lady that works at the horse place, and did a lot of stuff around the farm and kind of just spent Christmas morning with her because she lives alone. Then our whole district went to a members home to have a breakfast and celebrate Christmas with them. They were super kind and got us a stocking with a lot of goodies inside and then some hot chocolate mixes. They also have a new foundland and that's what the picture of me and dog is. After that we went to the church and called the fam which was good to see everyone all happy and also super weird to be on the other side of the screen on a missionary Christmas.

We went to the Rotz afterwards and had a really good classic Christmas dinner. They also have the cutest dog ever and it's the one I'm gonna have when I'm older, called a Sheepadoodle. So yeah. Overall it was a great Christmas and definitely was better than I expected it to be being away from home. Thursday was fun too. I went on an exchange with Elder McMeen again but this time I stayed in Julington Creek and led the area. So that was good too. That's pretty much all this week.

Love you all have a great New Year's!
