Quick updates from the Florida Georgia Line!
Luke sent me a bonsai growing kit for Christmas lol and i have to say it is going immensely. I have two sprouts, only 2 years and 11 months until I can trim them into bonsai tree.
I had covid for the first half of January, what a great time. But it got me out of giving a talk for a couole weeks. Still cant taste diet coke so thats a rip,
We had transfers and I stayed and got Elder Molisi. I was so hyped, he served around me in Jacksonville and its been way fun so far. I got to play golf last week and it was freezing, yes i know probably not like Utah but 48 degrees with wind and humidity is brutal. Especially when you want to enjoy playing but your hands are numb. Elder Molisi got us the hookup with someone that used to serve here and sent us a package from Hawaii full of li hing candy and the chocolate mountain things. Its pretty fire.
Thats pretty much it.
So I am a district leader here which means I'm over the missionaries around me and I have to give a lesson each week at our district council. This week I really focused on faith highlighting two different sources, first Ether 12:6 talking about how you don't receive a witness until after the trial of our faith. And second a talk from April 2020 conference by Elder Anderson titled Spiritually Defining Moments. I would encourage all of you to read it. Basically my point is that with faith we don't need to have this whole dang thing where we have the strongest faith in the world but we need to have enough to show Heavenly Father we believe. Meaning to take action, like praying or reading scriptures or going to church. Each of these is a small thing but its excercising faith. I like to think back to the primary song "faith is like a little seed, if planted it will grow". And we always receive a witness showing us after the fact that what we did was right and true and thats where the talk from Elder Anderson comes in. I promise that we have all had witnesses, and if you don't think so read the verse/talk and ask Heavenly Father to show you or start by acting in faith and plant that little seed by praying to show God your faith.
Cool, that's my little advice.
Love, Elder Barlow
