October 12, 2020 - Cars and Snakes

Man this week has been eventful. We had Zone conference on Wednesday and that was good, we talked a lot about the spirit and how to recognize it. Pres Wood said there is an acronym to it so I wanted to share it with you guys, PIE

P=persuades
I=Invites
E=Entices

Meaning if the thought does these things to be good or help someone then it comes from God and is the spirit sending the message so don't second guess yourself when those thoughts or ideas come! 

After that I got to go on a tradeoff with Elder Kimball, so I was in Arlington, which is the area next to me, for a day. It was hilarious, we did not have one single contact or conversation that was normal, each started off fine and then the weirdest ideas or topics came out of left field. My personal favorite was Garry (yes two r's), he is an old dude chillin with his shirt off smoking a cigarette, and he told us how someone stole his TV and his microwave and 5 lbs of... M&ms, 2.5 regular and 2.5 peanut. We were dying lol, but he somehow got $250 grand, still not sure if that's real or not because he lives in government housing and is getting his food stamp card this week, so he bought a new TV and more m&ms. Was truly a blessing to meet this man. 

So we share our ward with Sisters which has been great so far, but on Sunday right as I got out of the shower we got a call from them and they sounded scared and asked if we could get to the church quickly to help them. I legit thought they were in trouble. So we drove over there and I didn't have a tie or belt on and lo and behold they high centered their car lol. So freaking funny, we had to lift it as they reversed off. One ward member posted it on Facebook and said the sisters had a little car trouble before church haha. 


Anyway that's pretty much it, love and miss you guys!

  Yes indeed, this will be my last weekly email. I don't know how all of you are going to live without my every once in a while updates lol. This week has been awesome. It has gone by so fast, we have had so many different things to do. On Tuesday we had beers with Brother dodge (don't worry its just root beer but he likes to freak people out and have fun with it). We went with him to a recent converts place, Bob, to watch a book of Mormon video and it was wonderful until the video ended and bro dodge proceeded to tell Vietnam War stories for 2 hours. It was brutal. OK so there is a recent convert here named Grace and she is probably one of the coolest people I've met on my mission. We got to talk to her on Thurs night and hear her conversion story and it was awesome. She is one of those people that just gets it, and she is all in for the gospel. September 21, 2020 - Go Jags

  Yo! This week was filled with a bunch of stuff so I'll give a few highlights Monday we golfed in the morning, hit up bdubs (their new sauces are trash) and then had a nerf war lol, felt like I was 12 again. It was awesome. Tuesday we did service at some organic farm, pretty cool since the lady requested help on Facebook, and that was something. We picked sweet potatoes for 4 straight hours, I could never be a farmer. I did find the largest potato and it was about the size of my head. Ants, spiders, and ticks were all prevalent but I'm still moving.  That night we went to Rhondas for a little good bye dinner. It was sweet we had lasagna and she also got apple pie and ice cream, because I said pie was my favorite. I felt I had made a mistake after she put two huge pieces on my plate with ice cream, but I was a champ and put it down. June 8, 2020 - Tropical Storm < Tropical Wool

  This week has actually been really good! We had interviews this week with President Wood and we got to do them in person so that was awesome! We also had a referral this week for a Bible study and this dude is awesome, his name is Sedrick and he loved being able to study with us. Hopefully he will be just as excited to hear about the restoration! We also finally got to have a sit down lesson our Chinese friend and it was awesome! Just kidding I have no idea since I didn't understand anything but I think it went pretty good and she wants to keep doing more so that's something.  It has been raining for like a week straight because of the tropical storm in Louisiana. Which is great but it washes out all the ants from the dirt and so they are all over the parking lot, we've had ants all over and in our car for 3 straight days.
